Anna’s Accountancy Alerts – Week 5 (29th –April – 5th May 2024)

Anna's Accountancy Alerts

On 16 January 2024 the government announced that it will mandate employers to report and collect Income Tax and Class 1A National Insurance contributions on employment benefits through payroll software from 6 April 2026. This means that the 2025 to 2026 tax year will be the last year that employers will be able to file P11Ds and P11D(b)s with HMRC in most cases. From this date, tax on employment benefits will be collected in real time and not through tax codes in arrears. Class 1A National Insurance contributions will also be collected in real time for each pay period rather than at the end of the year.

Walsall Samaritans

Walsall Samaritans

I believe the Samaritans to do a fantastic job. One of my friends is a Samaritan and I know from her how valuable the service they offer is and what a difference it makes to people.

When I found out that that Walsall Samaritans need a new building I thought I want to raise awareness.

I don’t know if people realise but all the Samaritans are volunteers and many of them work full time as well as cover their shifts.

They have been in Walsall for 55 years and I want to help them to achieve their goal of getting a new building.

The area they cover isn’t just Walsall central – it includes Cannock, Hednesford, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Streetly , Willenhall and Bloxwich.

They need to raise £250k and have set up Project 55 to do exactly that!
