Flexible working update
Currently employees can only request flexible working after completing 26 weeks of service. This will be removed so that employees will be able to request flexible working from day one of employment.
Flexible working covers working from home and in the office, job-sharing, flexitime, and working compressed, annualised, or staggered hours.
Employers will have to respond to requests within two months, down from three months currently.
Unresolved banking complaints
UK SMEs have less than three months left to register unresolved historical banking complaints with the Business Banking Resolution Service (BBRS).
Businesses could be awarded compensation up to £350,000 if they apply before 14 Feb 2023.
Businesses should check now if the BBRS can help, using this online tool.
Businesses could benefit from free and impartial alternative dispute resolution.
Customers with recent complaints can still register through the contemporary scheme.
Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Annual allowance reduction
The CGT annual exempt amount reduces from £12,300 to £6,000 from April 2023 – are you thinking of making any disposals in the next few months? If so it would be worth planning to make them before 5/4/23.
